English[edit]

Noun[edit]

trick question (plural trick questions)

  1. A question that tries to make someone answer in a certain way, usually incorrectly (i.e. that seems to have an obvious answer that is however incorrect), or that doesn't have a correct answer or that hides the real question or some difficulty. Usually a loaded question.
  2. (rare) A complex question, whose wording hinders the ability to answer it correctly. (Can we add an example for this sense?)
